by Lori Dampier,
LMT, CMMP, CIMT, CAMST,
CPMT, CNMT.
Lori
graduated from massage school in 1996 and was granted licensure by
the National Certification Board in 1996. She has a background in
Nursing and has continued to study advanced techniques in the areas
of osteopathic and neurological medicine.
Prior to relocating to Georgia, Lori owned and operated TNC Therapeutic
Massage. There she provided the community with weekly Tai Chi Chuan
classes that encouraged balance, strength, self-discipline, health,
and flexibility. In 1997, she was introduced to Tai Chi. Feeling an
effortless building of strength, increased mobility, peace, and focus,
Lori new that the gentle, yet powerful movements could benefit many
clients. Soon at the request of clients, Tai Chi classes were offered
weekly which grew into serving clients and community alike.
In 2001, one of Lori’s three children was diagnosed with Autism.
Over the years of working closely with her daughter and various therapists
gave Lori the opportunity to expand into specialization in treatment
and prevention of developmental disorders such as Sensory Integration
Dysfunction, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, Autism, Cerebral
Palsy and others. After relocating in 2006, Lori Dampier established
Body Balance Therapeutics of the Metro Atlanta area with the mission
to educate and empower individuals and families with knowledge and
ability to possess vitality in every aspect of their life’s journey.
Lori is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association
and serves as a volunteer on the Georgia Chapter Board and as a State
of Georgia Delegate. She has received multiple awards of
appreciation for her volunteer community service and was also presented
with the Humanitarian Award in 2011. After becoming both state and
nationally licensed as a massage therapist, Lori studied under world
renown physicians and therapists and has received certification in
Neuromuscular Therapy and Postural Analysis, Pediatrics-Infant through
Adolescence, Infant and Pediatric Massage Instructor, Myoskeletal
Alignment, Medical Massage , Atypical and Neurological Developmental
Disorders, Equine CranioSacral Therapy, and is currently completing
rigorous criteria for Diplomate Certification in CranioSacral Therapy
under Dr. John Upledger and the Upledger Institute. Lori is affiliated
with LiddleKidz Foundation, founded by recognized philanthropist Tina
Allen, the American Massage Therapy Association and Upledger Institute.
