LONNA SPENCER

Lonna is a native of Jacksonville, Florida where she attended the Buddy Sherwood School of Dance. There she progressed through the level of pointe work.

Upon moving to Atlanta Lonna began studying gymnastics and continued through High School. Her skills were good enough there that she was accepted onto the County team.

After attending Kennesaw Junior College and then Georgia State University, Lonna took some time off to marry and begin a family which included three children, two of which are grown and one still at home.

In 1994 Mrs. Spencer added Ballroom Dancing to her list of accomplishments taking classes at Clayton State University and from a private studio. She joined Dominy School of the Performing Arts when it was still Mimi Hutson Dance Studio in 1996.

Since then she has furthered her proficiency to the highest levels in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop and  assisted in various classes and performed each year in our shows. She has been teaching since 1996 in the community and has taught with Dominy School of the Performing Arts since it's beginning!
