DALE YOUNG (American Karate & Self Defense) A lifelong resident of Conyers, Mr.
Young is a fourth-degree black belt and certified instructor in the
martial arts. He has been involved in the community for many years
and some may know him as a past lead instructor with Crossroads Martial
Arts at the Rockdale Boys and Girls Club since 1992 and at the County
Recreation Department since 1996. In 1998 he completed the
The popular program he helped develop during those years uses the acronym T.E.A.M. to assist in building the necessary skills to respond properly when confronted with the violence and peer pressure in the everyday world in which we live. Here is the STUDENT CREED: TRUTH We endeavor to be truthful in all our daily dealing with our fellow man. ENDURANCE Together we encourage each other to go beyond our known abilities to increase our body and mind to achieve goals we’ve never accomplished before. ATTITUDE Our attitude should always be one of respect and honesty with each other and with ourselves. This includes respecting the property and people with which you train. This also means no talking in class and cleaning up behind yourself. Show respect to yourself and others by not eating in class or bringing personal items to class. MOTIVATION Always strive to help yourself and your fellow students to excel at all times. There is always someone better no matter how good you are at any particular event or sport. Sometimes meeting someone on their level is better than showing off. You may need them someday. In addition to the Martial Arts, Mr. Young is also available to teach Self-Defense and Rape Prevention. |
