AMY BAILEY

Amy hails from Jackson, GA and earned her Fine Arts Degree in 1992 from Dean Jr. College in Franklin, Massachusetts. Her background includes intensive professional training in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, creative movement, dance theory and choreography.

For eleven years Ms. Bailey operated her own dance studio, Step N Time Performing Arts Center in Jackson, GA where she instructed ages 2 ½ through adults in ballet, tap, jazz, modern/lyrical, tumbling and cheernastics.
During this time she also taught ballet, tap, and jazz at Woodlees Christian Academy on old Salem Road in Conyers, Ga. Her students there ranged in age from 2 ½ to 12.

Since that time Amy has taught at other studios and schools in the area and is proud of the fact that her students have won 1st/2nd place awards at various dance competitions and been accepted to colleges for the performing arts.

Amy has performed in the Beehive Musical Production at The Little Macon Theater in Macon, GA and danced in the Nutcracker with Festival Ballet Company in Stockbridge, GA, attending classes there and at the Atlanta Ballet in Atlanta, GA. She continues to further her training by attending dance competitions, workshops and conventions as well as taking professional classes, mainly at Dance 101, in order to keep up with the latest styles and techniques.

Mrs. Bailey lives in Jackson, GA with her husband and two young children. We were pleased to welcome her to the staff of Dominy School in September of 2007!
